Oculus Financial Services Group introduces sought after Aged Care Service
After recognising the ever increasing need for aged care advice in the local community, Oculus Financial Services Group has joined the Aged Care Adviser Network.
Joining the network allows Oculus to provide specialised aged care advice.
Phil Thomson, Financial Adviser and Director at Oculus recognised the growing need for this service and decided it was time to introduce an Aged Care Service.
“Increasingly more and more of my clients are expressing the need for aged care advice. Moving your loved ones into aged care can be a difficult time and our aim is to eliminate financial stress for our clients and their families”, said Thomson.
Australia’s population is getting older. Around 13% of the population is aged 65 or older. This proportion is expected to increase to 26% by 2051.
It’s important that families seek financial advice before the time comes to make the decision of moving their loved ones into aged care.
“I urge people to seek financial advice before making the decision. Working together with our clients we can create a plan to ensure a smooth transition into aged care; however, we can also react urgently should the need happen unexpectedly”, said Thomson.
Thomson believes Oculus is the first Financial Planning firm on the Gold Coast and Tweed Heads region to offer such a specialist service.
In the past aged care residents and their families were travelling to Brisbane to seek financial advice.

“Anyone entering the facility must seek financial advice prior to moving into aged care. Having a local specialist adviser speeds up the entire process and moves residents into their home as quickly and easy as possible”, said O’Conner.
